I go to NYC alone, with little clothing and a lot of photographic equipment. I stay there for a week. I go there just to take pictures, to sit in a deserted street, to have a coffee in a place where many work on their computers, to observe people, places. I am not a tourist. I've never been to the Empire, the Guggenheim Museum or Ground Zero. I don't plan a destination, I go around randomly during the day and at night just following my instinct. In 2020 I was there when the pandemic broke out. I was able to take the last possible flight to return. In this album I have selected and collected only the photos I took at that time and not those from other years. It is my way of remembering what NYC has given me and thanking the city and the people who live there.

Je vais seul à New York, avec peu de vêtements et beaucoup de matériel photographique. J'y reste une semaine. J'y vais juste pour prendre des photos, m'asseoir dans une rue déserte, prendre un café dans un endroit où beaucoup travaillent sur leurs ordinateurs, pour observer les gens, les lieux. Je ne suis pas un touriste. Je n'ai jamais été à l'Empire, au musée Guggenheim ou à Ground Zero. Je ne prévois pas de destination, je fais le tour au hasard le jour et la nuit en suivant mon instinct. En 2020, j'étais là lorsque la pandémie a éclaté. J'ai pu prendre le dernier vol possible pour revenir. Dans cet album, j'ai sélectionné et rassemblé uniquement les photos que j'ai prises à l'époque et non celles d'autres années. C'est ma façon de me souvenir de ce que NYC m'a donné et de remercier la ville et les gens qui y vivent.

Vado a NYC da solo, con poco abbigliamento e molta attrezzatura fotografica. Ci resto una settimana. Ci vado solo per fare foto, per sedermi in una strada deserta, per bere un caffè in un locale dove molti lavorano ai loro computer, per osservare le persone, i luoghi. Non faccio il turista. Non sono mai stato sull’Empire, al Guggenheim Museum o a Ground Zero. Non pianifico una meta, giro a caso di giorno e di notte seguendo solo l’istinto. Nel 2020 ero lì quando è scoppiata la pandemia. Ho potuto prendere l’ultimo volo possibile per rientrare. In questo album ho selezionato e raccolto solo le foto che ho fatto in quel momento e non quelle di altri anni. E’ il mio modo di ricordare quello che NYC mi ha dato e di ringraziare la città e le persone che ci vivono.
